The caves

One of the favourite dives for many divers that visit Cyprus and also for the many local divers that live on the island. Whether you are relatively new to diving or whether you are a veteran diver, there is no doubt that you will enjoy this dive. The beauty and attraction of this dive site for many divers, is that there are so many different eliments to the dive. It is relaxing, offers adventure and can also be used for Speciality dives and as one of the ‘choice’ dives on the Advanced Open Water course.

About The Caves Dive

The dive begins with a gradual descent to around 2-3 metres and as you make your way round to the caves, it reaches a maximum depth of 12 metres. The dive actually starts in fairly shallow waters and to reach the actual caves, takes around 10 minutes of gentle finning.

On your decent and on making your way to the caves, you will see the many different types of marine life that inhabit the many rock formations.

On reaching the caves, you have several choices. Each of the many caves are different in size and each one has its own character and charm.

It is possible to swim through each cave and as the rays of light shine through the openings and reflect on the crystal blue waters, it really is a fantastic sight to experience. Descending down through one of the caves in a freefall motion, provides you with the feeling of being in Space and is a great sensation.

These natural cave formations of this dive site, provide divers with a unique opportunity to enhance their diving skills whilst having great fun, in a controlled and safe environment.

After visiting the caves and exploring each one, you have a leisurely finn back to the exit point (which is the same as the entry point) of the dive site.

This dive site really does have everything you would want in a dive and cater for all levels of qualified divers. It is a nice gentle dive, with various types of marine life to see, with a little bit of adventure and exploration thrown in for good measure!
